High myopia (17 diopters in both eyes) with cataract represented for me a considerable handicap: blepharitis and dry eye do not allow the use of contact lenses and with glasses I could barely see at intermediate distance.
All the ophthalmologists I went to suggested to postpone cataract surgery, considering the precarious conditions of the retina.
