For some years I had noticed that a haze was progressively blurring my vision; In this way I discovered that I was suffering from Fuchs' Dystrophy (cornea guttata) in both eyes. Over the years, my eyesight worsened and I found myself faced with the only possible solution: a cornea transplant. After the initial dismay, I allowed myself to be persuaded to undergo the operation. This is how I met Dr. Badalà, who provided me with further explanations regarding the new DMEK technique and, above all, inspired me with confidence. The operation took place under local anesthesia and I did not feel any pain either during or after the operation, only a slight discomfort in the following days as if from a foreign corpuscle. The only real "penance" was to remain supine in bed for 48 hours to allow the transplanted cells to fix. It was truly worth it! Within a week I began to see more and more clearly until I rediscovered – with profound joy – the liveliness and brilliance of the colors, which I had not remembered for a long time. I am very grateful to Dr. Badalà for giving me the joy of seeing clearly again. I am grateful to him for his high professionalism, but also for the kindness and humanity with which he treated me.
