In 2006 I discovered that I already had cornea guttata (Fuchs' dystrophy). I saw more and more blurrily and the only solution offered to me by several ophthalmologists was a corneal transplant , but everyone said that it was something to be done perhaps in many years; Meanwhile I could see less and less and was surrounded all day by a terrible fog. Then, since I never give up, I did some research on the internet and discovered Doctor Badalà. I immediately made an appointment and was happy to learn from him that he would operate on me with the new DMEK technique . An innovative technique and much less invasive than traditional transplantation. The hospital stay is very short , you go home the next day, the only thing is that you have to stay in bed horizontally for 24 hours and then you have to alternate lying in bed with standing for a few days, a very small sacrifice compared to the result! I had the operation on 06/15/2016 and everything went great! Not the slightest pain, the fog has disappeared from my left eye and I am overjoyed, already a week later at the check-up I could see much better than before and even better than the other non-operated eye, I know I will have to wait a long time, but I can't wait to operate on the right eye too. Thank you Dr. Badalà I feel reborn!
