Artificial Retina

It is an experimental procedure, that can bring great results but, unfortunately, only after a long period of time and in very few cases. At the moment, the most promising project is the one called ARGUS II Retinal Implant, by the american company Second Sight. It has been used also for treating end-stage pigmented retinopathy, with some successful cases.

One of the retinopathy centers to be considered for this device is the Philadelphia Wills Eye Institute, where Dr. Badalà worked. He now works as an ophthalmologist in Milan and Catania and has experience on the device.
