These are the latest news in <a href=\"\/en\/publications\/glaucoma-treatment\/\">glaucoma treatment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Ex-PRESS<\/strong> stent is a mini stent for treating glaucoma. It has been been developed by an israeli company called Optonol; its reference center in Italy has been the University of Genova. Dr. Badal\u00e0 started using Ex-Press in 2001 and published some important scientific works about this stent several years before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRABECTOME<\/strong> is an apparatus for treating glaucoma that removes the biggest obstacle to the acqueous humor drainage: the trabeculate. This, while maintaining the anatomic integrity of the ocular bulb without having to create a new communication channel between the inside and the outside of the eye.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; margin: 10px 10px 10px 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GjkQ3Y-ml-E\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><strong>Dr. Badal\u00e0 is the first italian doctor<\/strong> to have ever performed <strong>glaucoma surgery with Trabectome<\/strong> in 2007 and has a great experience with this technique that consists in removing the obstacle and letting the acqueous humor flow, following an ab interno approach.<\/p>\n<p>LMinimally invasive glaucoma surgery has the advantage of having less complications if compared to major glaucoma surgery.
